In terms of quantity and value, frozen shrimp is still the main export commodity, followed by frozen fish. The United States and China are the main exporters of Indian seafood. In FY19, India’s seafood exports amounted to 1,392,559 tons, with an export value of US$6.728 billion. The Marine Products Export Development Authority of India (MPEDA) stated that India successfully exported 1,289,651 tons of seafood, which was not severely impacted by the epidemic.
